The Captive Lake The beautiful Moehne Lake now receives a million visitors per year but there is very little to remind them that this was once the scene of a memorable air raid that British strategists believed would bring about the conclusion of the Second World War. However, our story does not focus on the RAF's role in the events, but the forbidden love and family tragedy of a young German man who lives in small village shadowed by the great Moehne dam.
